Respect Mr. Superman, Big Ups Mr. Superman.

I believe it is time to give comic books the credit they deserve. Most of the deep and emotionally meaningful lessons I learned as a child were from X-Men and Batman. The complex parallels between Professor Xavier and Magneto's leadership methods to civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were understood by me at the age of 9. Don't scoff at these comics; I promise you'll regret it. Critical acclaim (and top grossing movies) has followed the release of these comics.

I recommend "The Phoenix Saga" from the X-Men series as well as the "300" graphic novel, and the "Berserk" Manga Series. My most recent love is "Y the Last Man".

I'll give a links to the descriptions of the comics:

Pictures I have Taken

These pictures were all taken in either Spain, England, or Washington D.C.

I love my Scotland photos but they weren't digital and you're just going to have to settle for these. Hopefully I'll return to Edinburgh, a place I like to call the love of my life. My real dream is some sort of Librarian Abroad Program that will take me there. Keep dreaming, right?!

Blogging can be fun!

Library 2.0 seems to be an urban legend. The students in my Library Science classes and my co-workers all heard "someone" say that it has something to do with the internet and their "best friend's cousin" does it all the time. So, when the Library 2.0 classes began I was looking forward finding out what it was and acheive the goal of becoming "someone's best friend's cousin" that uses it all the time.

The only gap that hasn't been filled is how I can use this Blog to ensure that we as Librarians will keep us from having to desperately keep up with technology and make technology need to keep up with us!
